Celebrating Australian Made Week
Our commitment to Australian made manufacturing
Our manufacturing, assembly and engineering work is built on locally sourced materials, locally designed processes, and local jobs that create meaningful employment for people of all abilities.
For Australian Made Week 2026, we’re highlighting two of our longest‑standing Australian‑made success stories: snake mesh production and our brush and lid assemblies.
Snake mesh: Australian materials, Australian ingenuity
The precast concrete industry relies on snake mesh to space steel reinforcement efficiently. We weld and fold mesh in a range of heights, using raw materials sourced from Australian suppliers. Every piece is produced on custom‑built equipment designed to make the work safer, faster and more accessible for our employees.
One of the most significant improvements to the product came from within our own team.
Years ago, a customer needed a bent wire product made from a series of tight 90‑degree bends — a process that required more machinery, more labour and more material. David, our in‑house tool‑maker, saw a better way. Instead of sharp angles, he proposed using smooth curves that still created the same “snake‑like” profile.
The customer approved the change, and the impact was clear:
- Curves use less mesh than 90‑degree bends, reducing material waste.
- The process became simpler and faster to produce.
- Custom machinery was built to support the new method.
- The work became easier and more accessible for employees.
Today, that curved‑bend design is used widely across the industry – a quiet example of Australian innovation driven by practical problem‑solving on the workshop floor.
